About the Item
This gown came about upon our discovery of a caché of Edwardian brass chain. it is so incredibly rare to find this much chain still intact that we had to create a stunner of a gown out of it. We paired it with some antique lave we had in our archive from Paris which had some brass embroidery complimenting the patinated gold tone of the chain. The lower half of the skirt came from the remnants of a Victorian Chinese embroidered shawl. The excess fringe & Lace we used to create a matching capelet which can also be worn as a hood. Due to the antique nature of the textiles any small spots, holes or areas of "discoloration" are expected and are signs of the age and beauty of the textiles.
