About the Item
Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi designed this adorable striped vintage dress. Vuokko was one of the two original designers for Marimekko. Nurmesniemi designed the popular Jokapoika shirt that is one that is credited with putting Marimekko on the map! She then opened her own company and this dress is from that venture in the 1970's. This dress definitely has that familiar Marimekko feel to it! Nurmesniemi's fashion designs can be found in the permanent collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
The fabric is a charcoal gray with ivory stripes and is a timeless piece that is beautifully made.
The dress zips up the front and fits a size Small. Label reads: Vuokko Suomi Finland. The thing we love about this dress is that it is a year round piece that can be worn in the Summer or the Fall / Winter with a pair of tights!
