Arthur Falkenstein was a talented American Couturier on par with Sophie of Saks and Hattie Carnegie. Falkenstein is represented at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and was a popular designer during Carmel Snow's reign at Harper's Bazaar. This breathtaking 1950's party dress is a wonderful example of his genius. Fashioned from black & white illusion French chantilly-lace, this creation has everything a woman wants. The bodice is a beautiful heavily-pleated satin, fully-boned strapless shelf-bust. I adore the hourglass nipped-waist which was a signature style for this era. The full swing-skirt finishes this beauty off with a perfect "new look" silhouette. This will be the dress you reach for every time you want to look dynamite!
