Abraham Pelham designed initially for Bill Blass, Calvin Klein and Bergdorf Goodman private label. In 1998 he began creating clothes under his own label, on a made-to-order basis, at his Paris studio. Constructed in dark brown silk chiffon, this couture gown is an ultimate example of craftsmanship ! Similar to the iconic Bottega Veneta’s “intrecciato” technique, the silk chiffon is entirely and carefully interlacing gradually, tight at the top and loose at the bottom (see pictures 6, 8 & 9). With its fitted silhouette, the gown offers a deep V-neckline and is finished with a small train at the rear. The interior of the dress has molded cups, boning and internal belt to balance the "thickness" of the silk chiffon interlacing. Fully lined in satin silk, it closes with a concealed zip, hook and eye at the back. An endless stole of refined matching silk chiffon is adding a dose of “Black tie and Red carpet” glamour to this piece.
