1940s Uniquely Draped Sheer Gown

About

The old Hollywood glamour of the full sweep of this skirt is wonderful. We've listed it as 1940s to be safe however it may be late 1930s as well. regardless of its age it's glamour and design holds strong. The organza and slubbed yarn textile has been draped and twisted around the torso, drawing the stripes around and down the body. One can see this as an obvious inspiration to the Vivienne Westwood dress we just listed. Hand draping onto boned bodices like this was more in trend in the late 1940s and is this is why we are dating it as such. The patriotic colors of red and blue would have been perfect for the post war years, one just needs a necklace of Chanel diamond stars to complete the look.
