Exquisite Jean Louis Scherrer Couture Silk Chiffon & Lace-Trimmed Dress
About the Item
This early 80's Scherrer haute couture dress could be a fabulous option for a bride-to-be. Made from delicate off-white lace which is underpinned with a refined color matching silk-chiffon to reduce the transparency, this dress features fine godet pleats through the tiered skirt that fans out from the hips. Gently puffed sleeves (shoulder pads are sewn but easy to remove). The lace collar and cuffs are framed with fluttery ruffles for added sweetness and romantism (see pictures 8, 10 & 16). The dress fastens at the back with a concealed zip and a series of ten hand covered silk buttons. Mini press studs are sewn between the top buttons for the fabric to really hold in place (that's couture !). The ruffled collar closes with three hook-and-eye, while the cuffs with four hand covered silk buttons (see picture 14). Two layers of silk chiffon sewn together constitute the lining of this piece. No size tag but feels like an US 6 (UK 10 / FR 38 / IT 42). The floaty hem creates the most beautiful movement ! Wear it with pointed pumps and a dark-red lip.
