This stunning monochrome evening dress by Jacques Heim is made up of a black lace top, black velvet waistband and ivory silk skirt. The dress features a flattering scooped neckline, plunging lower at the back, with a split between the lace and velvet to reveal the back. Jacques Heim came a family of furriers, and after taking over the family company in 1923 he introduced couture, opening his fashion house in 1930. Heim was appointed designer to the wife of General de Gaulle and dressed celebrities such as Sophia Loren.
