About the Item
John Galliano's "Torsion" dress from the Ready to Wear Fall Winter 2006 collection.
The pattern features torsions that frame the neckline in front and back.
A panel, formed by seemingly random pleats, starts at the center front neckline and tucks in at the bottom. On the center back, above the bottom, the torsion gives rise to a tail that gives volume to the dress.
The 'hem is asymmetrical and the length midi. The fabric is 100% silk georgette.
The dress has a cloudy effect, the color is deliberately uneven
and ranges from dark brown to black.
The 'opening is in the center back on the back.
The placket, on the neckline, features two large buttons
decorated like a lace and then continues on the back with a
long row of two-hole mother-of-pearl buttons with outer buttonholes.
