Richilene Fuchsia Micro Pleat Beaded Evening Dress, 1980’s

About the Item

The bright fuchsia color of this 1980’s Richilene evening dress is captivating though the phenomenal bead work on the sleeves is the real show stopper. Beautifully made with a micro pleat fabric reminiscent of Mary McFadden or Mario Fortuny, the silhouette provides a flattering crossover design at the bodice and zips with hook at the back. The ornate sleeves feature an intricate combination of metallic gold mesh, braid, embroidery, beading and faceted stones, all in complimentary shades of fuchsia, pink, aqua blue and sea blue. Partially lined at the bodice and sleeves. CONDITION The dress makes a stunning first impression though a closer look reveals issues worth mentioning. There is a missing faceted stone in the sleeve decoration as show in photograph 13. The faceted stones are set in braided 'frames' and two of the stones are loose in the frames though tightly sewn in, please see photograph 14 for one of the stones. There is some wear to the fabric in the form of pulls and some light pilling which is camouflaged by the micro pleats. Please see photograph 15 for the most noticeable pull found at the front hip area. Beautiful nonetheless but with condition reflected in the price. SIZING & MEASUREMENTS The size is not marked though the dress best fits U.S. sizes 6 - 8 with attention to the following measurements taken without stretching the fabric though there is stretch due to the micro pleats. For visual reference, the mannequin in the photographs is a size 4.
