Tropical 1970's Halter Evening Dress With Dramatic Chiffon Cape

About the Item

This 1970's dress by Natalie Collett is a fun and fabulous combination of a vibrant tropical print and a dramatic asymmetrical chiffon cape. The simple columnar halter dress is designed with a not-so-simple graphic fabric in red, white, gray and black which appears to be silk. It is fully lined with a zipper and hooks at the back and a self tie at the neck. The dramatic chiffon cape has an asymmetrical cut and snaps at the tab collar with a detachable bow. Great as an ensemble or consider wearing the halter dress as a separate with flat sandals for a simpler yet festive evening look. Very good vintage condition with a small dark mark on the fabric at the front hip line as shown in photograph 8 and some minor runs in the fabric as also seen in the same photograph. The vibrancy of the fabric design camouflages these relatively minor flaws. In addition, the dress may have been altered at the bust to provide a nip under each arm which is shown in photograph 9. SIZING & MEASUREMENTS The size is unmarked though the dress best fits a U.S. size 6 - 8 with attention to the following measurements. DRESS Bust 35" Waist 32.5" Hips 37" Length From Shoulder to Hem 54.5" The CAPE is relatively unstructured with an approximate 18" shoulder. It measures 38" long from shoulder to hem and the tab collar has a 16.75" circumference.
