1940's Iridescent Ivory Gold Beaded Sequin Silk Draped Goddess Couture Gown

About the Item

Sparkling gowns from the early 1940's era are perennial favorites and this French couture showstopper is breathtaking. The garment's simple fluid structure is so modern; the fine fantaisie paillettes sequins are a treasure trove of needle art. I love the iridescent ivory and gold color combination which compliments the beaded effortlessly. There is so much detail in the fabrication, you can tell this masterpiece was created with love and care. The bodice has a chic low-cut plunge sleeveless design. This flows into flattering ruched cummerbund waistline with draped side-sash. The skirting skims the hip and flares out with impressive length. It is impeccably seamed and on the level of modern day couture. Measurements Bust: 32-33 inches Waist: 25 inches Hips: up to 38 inches Total Length: 57 inches This couture gown is in excellent wearable condition with no discoloration, holes or noticeable stains. Gorgeous hand-finishing throughout. Closes with hidden metal-snaps and Eclair hand-set metal zipper. I wouldn't be surprised if this creation was by a famous designer like Chanel or Paquin, as it has all the hallmarks of a French haute- couture piece from this era. An investment dress that will increase in value.
