Vintage 1960's Gold Lurex Brocade & Rhinestone Evening Gown UK 8 US 4

About the Item

This simply breathtaking early 1960's evening gown, rendered in a gold rose pattern brocade, with lurex thread accents, set against a silk creamy gold faille, and embellished with claw set silver rhinestones, is the perfect piece for that special occasion. The rounded neckline of the dress is framed by medium width shoulder straps and a sleeveless cut. The wonderful bodice of the dress is accented by a floating bust-panel in matching brocade, which boasts tailored darts along the bust line, and a curved hemline, finished with a central decorative brocade bow. The fitted under bodice, sets off the central claw set silver rhinestones, which sit just below the floating bodice panel, drawing the eye to the cinched in waistline. The elegant line of the skirt, is set off by small gathered pleats to either side of the front of the waistline, which radiate along the length of the dress. The back of the skirt-line boasts gathered pleats along the waistline, completing this gown, in an iconic 1960's silhouette. The bodice of the dress is lined in rayon.
