Vintage Art Deco black velvet dress, c1930s
About the Item
A gorgeous, vampy vintage 1930s Art Deco black velvet dress.
The dress has a very short cut out mandarin style collar with slightly sloped shoulders and the most gorgeous pin tuck pleat or ruching to the shoulder and hip on opposite sides.
A mid length sleeve with plenty of room, the dress buttons up the back with velvet covered buttons, the lowermost buttons have been sewn shut.
The dress has cotton belt loops for adding a belt but no belt, no other fasteners.
It comes with a gorgeous Art Deco paste dress clip, this is removable so can be removed if desired but it looks great.
No labels, unlined.
Condition:
Good used condition overall with some signs of use and wear commensurate with age, some pitting / nibbles to the velvet scattered around the dress, wear to the fabric covering on the buttons, small seam separation at the neckline currently covered by the dress clip.
