Men’s City of Paris Ivory Shawl Collar Black Tie Formal Dinner Jacket -40L, 1949

About the Item

"Black Tie" doesn't necessarily have to mean "black jacket," and if you are the kind of gentleman who wants to stand out from the crowd, opt for the debonair gold standard: the ivory dinner jacket. Worn by everyone from Harry Truman to Cary Grant to Sean Connery, the ivory dinner jacket is the perfect choice for black tie dressing in warmer climates, during resort season or when you simply want to make a statement without upsetting the apple cart. And you can hardly go wrong with a slim, shawl collar version (with a boutonnière hole!) from the Golden Age of tailored menswear, 1949. 1-button, single breasted sport jacket with slim shawl collar and left side boutonniere hole. Front flap pockets both sides, plus exterior left breast pocket; interior vertical breast pocket right side. 8” center back vent; two decorative buttons at each wrist.
