Most famously worn by Madonna to the 1999 Grammys, where she opened the show and left with four awards, and by Mariah Carey in a 1999 photoshoot. The Spring/Summer 1999 collection is remembered for its drastic departure from Tom Ford's signature sleek minimalism. After the success of his earlier collections for Gucci, Ford wanted a challenge.
