About the Item

Favoloso! This two piece dress and coat set designed by Giovanna Ferragamo is a great example of the first forays into a ready-to-wear line by the famous fashion house best known for stylish shoes and founded by her Father, Salvatore Ferragamo. Both pieces are constructed from a graphic all-season wool fabric in a vibrant red and blue design. The sleeveless dress zips at the back and features a mock turtleneck a-line silhouette with detailed v-shaped seams around the neckline and back. The coordinating coat zips up the front with fun angular pockets, draped back belt and spiral domed shaped buttons at the cuffs and back. The youthful silhouette is a fabulous example of the mod trends of the 1960's and 1970's and can be worn together or as separates for versatility. Both pieces are fully lined and the ensemble retailed at Rich's which was a famous family owned department store headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia for decades. CONDITION Overall the two pieces are in excellent condition. There are a scattering of tiny pin pricks on the right hand side of the bust line of the dress as shown in photograph 8. They are barely noticeable and may have been caused by a piece of jewelry or perhaps a handbag strap. In addition, the dress may have been slightly altered to taper in the hem a bit as there are a couple of professional stitches at each side seam which can only be seen on the inside lining. The domed buttons on the coat sleeves show minor finish loss from previous wear. SIZING & MEASUREMENTS The ensemble is marked a size 10 though both pieces are best suited for a modern U.S. size 2-4 with attention to the following measurements.
