"In bloom" Copper Centerpiece by Cristina Romo
About the Item
Inspired by the wonderful shapes in nature, this organic centerpiece is made out of heat-treated copper, 100% hand made by expert craftsmen, each sheet of metal is hand hammered, cut and twisted using metal and or wood as a last to give each ruffle, a piece like this takes over 30 days to make in the ROMOHERRERA workshops in Taxco, Mexico.
Part of a limited series of 3, this piece is one of its kind, no hammer-blow or ruffle can be replicated exactly.
Using ancestral techniques passed on by generations Cristina Romo reinterprets the traditional art of silversmithing and brings a creative and modern twist to metalwork.
Cristina Romo, Third generation in a family of Designers. Daughter of Emilia Castillo, As a child she began
drawing and developed interest in the world of Silversmithing.
Today, scenes and elements from nature inspire her designs.
