One of a kind "Objet de vertu “Elephant” for candle and lighter, Bronze and Malachite, Napoleon III- France Exquisite and refined candle holder or censer made in France in the mid-19th century. This delicate elephant has been made in bronze, with gilt bronze details, and rests on a rectangular malachite base. The elephant, in a serene attitude, is dressed for the parade and carries the candle holder itself with its trunk. The trunk facing upwards is always a sign of good luck. On the litter that appears on the pachyderm's back, an eloquent monkey appears. The figure of the primate is the handle for the small box.
