Unusual 1920s Lucite Frame Satin Bag

From the 1920s, this unusual evening clutch is elegant and timeless at once. Done in black satin with black satin handles, it has a fabulous, ruffled, clear Lucite standup frame that is thick and sturdy. The black satin is pleated where it meets the top of the Lucite frame, giving this bag a sumptuous, formal feel. The design is reminiscent of the popular satin Ascot bag by The Row, minus the frame, which is a testament to just how timeless this black satin bag is. A unique addition to the discerning fashion lovers’ wardrobe, this clutch bag is the perfect choice for a cocktail party or special occasion.

This vintage bag is over 100 years old and is finished with hand-stitched details. It is fully lined in faded black satin that is clean and ready to use with an interior wall pocket. The interior label says ‘Surrey Original’. The bag opens by pressing a Lucite button in the frame and closes tightly and securely with no gaps. In very good condition, there are some minor surface scratches on the Lucite and some fading on the black satin exterior, to a purple/ black. High-quality vintage pieces like this are yours to live in and love while increasing in value every year.
