About the Item
A fine pair of carved marble tablets/architectural elements with delicately carved organic decorations, depicting a laurel wreath a prominent image from Greek history, the tablets previously part of larger feature like a grand fireplace.
The pair have a good decorative patina, some minor nibbles to the corners. Dating from the late 18th century, they also sit well of their own accord on a flat ground.
