About the Item
A fine quality English fireplace in the mid Georgian style, in Italian Carrara marble. The frieze with plain centre tablet, the jambs with delicate inner moulding of egg-and-dart and carved acanthus leaves to corners. The shelf with carved rosette pattern surmounted by matching egg-and-dart moulding. Based on an original design.
