Large Modernist Push-Pull Door Handle of Cast Bronze
About the Item
A large push-pull door handle of cast bronze with geometric modernist design. Found in Germany and dating from the third quarter 20th century.
The handle has been left as found, unpolished, and shows different tones from deep brown to rich brown-gold. The changing patina reflects use and handling over time, particularly to the upper right corner of the main image which is more golden. There are minor signs of age, as one might expect including scratches, marks and oxidation. The bracket sits at a very slight angle to the face of the handle (image10).
Installation:
The handle bracket is attached to the main plate by two fixings on the reverse, which we have not removed. The handle is fitted to the door using two long bolts (not supplied) as suit the thickness of your door and the weight of the metal.
