Massive Glass Blowing Crucible on Pedestal, Color Glass Residue

About the Item

This amazing and Large ceramic crucible that was used for industrial glass blowing and now used in High End decoration as Art vessels or orchid planters. It shows the residue at the bottom with colorful infusions of yellow, orange and blue (glass that remains in crystallized form) - each one completely unique all the others. These crucibles were used to melt glass at very high temperatures and retain remnants of glossy glass layers to base and edges. The pedestals in off-white are custom designed to showcase these 100+ lb vessels. We have several of these crucibles and pedestal sets, inquire for more options - see other listings. The painted aluminum pedestal stands were custom-made to better appreciate these exquisite Industrial objects. Note: Pedestal base is 24 x 24 and 21.75 inches tall, the crucible is 17 inches tall and 28 inches in diameter. The crucible alone weighs approx. 125 pounds. Due to the high temperature glass melting process some minor sharp edges remain throughout the crucible. Some show stress crackling sealed over in glass through the oven burning process. They are Solid and truly stunning as is.
