Four Georgian Wrought Iron Railing Lengths with Hand-Formed Circular End Finials
Located in London, GB
A set of four lengths of Georgian hand wrought iron railings with hoop style tops and circular hand formed end finials to each section. They are made from wrought iron so they are extremely strong and much stronger than cast iron and wrought iron requires little maintenance and defends rust and corrosion very well unlike cast iron, so they could be left to give the original look that they are. The end upright flat bars are heavy gage and perfect for fixing to a wall or a post. There is a top, middle and bottom heavy gage horizontal flat bar which join to the end uprights and hold the round bar and everything in place. To each corner end at the base there are small lugs which could be slotted into the floor and then the lower flat bar screwed...

Large and Unique Antique French Boiserie with Covered Alcove, 17th Century
Located in Dallas, TX
This beautiful section of boiserie has been carved from softwood in the 17th century (upper section pieces only). It has been completely cleaned (stripped) and clear waxed at some point in it's history, and about 15 years ago, the previous owners added the base section (one piece), and backing. The motifs are acanthus leaves in various forms, discs, scrolls and beading. To the sides of the center open section are crowns with ribbons. The one on the left is over an arrangement of irises while the one on the right is over an arrangement of roses. Beneath each is a draped cartouche with roses hanging from the center. Both of these sections are slightly curved inward to the central covered alcove. The opening is curved at the top with the ceiling being flat. Different motifs described above are at the back and the front. A bracket is above this blending into the ceiling molding...

Circa 1900 French Cast Iron Coat of Arms Fireback, La Bourdonnaye/Pommery
Located in Dallas, TX
Cast in France, circa 1900, this thick fireback depicts the coat of arms of the La Bourdonnaye family. The most noted member is François-Régis de La Bourdonnaye, a national deputy of France during the early- to mid-1800’s, who was also Comte de La Bretèche. Exceptionally thick motifs dominate the heraldic display, which has two lion supporters holding a rectangular shield with three lion charges. The escutcheon is textured with vertical hatches and is topped by an open five-point crown. Beneath the shield is a ribbon banner with Latin that reads in cruces pes et robur (“hope and strength in the cross”). The lions stand on a large acanthus margent that emanates from the banner and sprawls outwards. Originally designed to protect the back of fireplaces from smoke and soot, firebacks also reflect heat from the fire back into the room. Although our cast iron coat of arms...
