Rare and Important Pair of 17th c. Carved Marble Urns

About the Item

A rare and important pair of 17th century marble urns from the workshop of Jan Pieter Van Baurscheit (1649-1728), the body carved with mythological scenes carved in bas relief with gardrooning and scale carving on a square base, with later composition finials. Provenance: Ex collection Axel Vervoordt, Kasteel vans-Gravenwezel. More information can be found in the Christie's catalogue (page included in photos above).
