Doorknocker with Snake, Wrought Iron, Spanish School, 18th Century

About the Item

Caller with snake. wrought iron. Spanish school, 18th century. Caller made of wrought iron composed of two pieces. The balustrade that would join the door ends in a ring with a jagged outer edge, and from this hangs the knocker itself, a piece of balustraded profiles with a quadrangular section decorated with engraved lines and from which a curved shape ends in an oval from which a simple volute emerges, giving the sensation of a snake's head (and wanting to remind the animal thanks, also, to details engraved in the metal).
