18th - 19th C. French 'Apollo with Lyre' Fireback / Backsplash
About the Item
Late 18th or early 19th century French Neoclassical period fireback of the god Apollo with his lyre. Apollo is the god of light, sun, truth, prophecy, music and joy. Also the saving God, both in emergency caused by an epidemic or an invasion of enemies, as in any other emergency.
The fireback is made of cast iron and has a natural brown patina. Upon request it can be made black / pewter. The condition is good, no cracks.
