Antique French 'Arms of Lorraine' Fireback / Backsplash, 17th Century
About the Item
Beautiful 17th century French fireback with the arms of Lorraine. Central is the round shield with arms of Charles III, Duke of Lorraine, flanked by the Arms of Bar-le-Duc. Half round shield with arms of Charles III, Duke of Lorraine, flanked by the Arms of Bar-le-Duc. At the sides the cross of Lorraine. The style of the fireback is Louis XIV, and it is from that period.
The fireback is made of cast iron and has a natural brown patina. Upon request it can be made black / pewter. The fireback is in a good condition and does not have cracks.
