Early 19th Century French Polished Iron Fireback with Hunt Scene
About the Item
Decorate a wall or fireplace in a hunting lodge with this thick antique fire back guard. Created in France circa 1850, and in rectangular in shape, the tall plaque depicts a hunt scene with a hunter aiming his rifle, surrounded by intricate scroll designs. The heavy iron element is in excellent condition and adorns a rich polished black and silver steel finish. Originally designed to radiate the heat of a fireplace the screen plaque could also be used in a kitchen as a back splash behind a stove. A great addition for a hunting lodge or ranch!
