About the Item
Beautifully elegant fireplace screen in metal and brass. First half of the 20th century.
This is a classic piece with a modern and refreshing allure. The fire screen is simple in shape, but still looks rich because of the brass details. The legs, decorative end points on the corners and the handle give the screen a beautiful look. The see trough squares in the middle are a nice addition.
The fire screen has a considerable age and shows some patination. The painted metal is peeling off a bit at some places and the brass shows a fair bit of patina. As far as we are concerned, the wear matches the piece beautifully.
An elegant and subtly classic piece of furniture which deserves a decent spot next to a stylish fireplace.
