French 'Coat of Arms of Lorraine' Fireback / Backsplash, 18th-19th Century
About the Item
French fireback coat of arms of Lorraine.
Half round shield with arms of Leopold I, Duke of Lorraine, and palm branches. Surrounded by a chain of the Golden Fleece. The symbol of this Order is a small golden fleece of a ram's head and feet, taken by a ring, hanging from a golden chain.
The fireback is made of cast iron and has a natural brown patina. Upon request the fireback can be made black / pewter at no extra cost.
The fireback has a small crack (see pictures) but can still be used in an open fireplace or as a backsplash.
