French Louis XIV Style 'Phoenix' Fireback, 19th-20th Century
About the Item
Late 19th-early 20th century French Louis XIV style fireback with a phoenix arising from its ashes. With the text: "Flames sont des fleurs ou il representative ma vie" (Flames are flowers that bring me back to life). An older reproduction of the original that was cast in the Saint-Claire foundry in Villerupt, Lorraine, between 1680 and 1710.
The fireback is made of cast iron.
