Pair of 16th Century Chateau Fireplace Andirons from France

About the Item

These magnificent andirons are period French Renaissance, and they date to the 1500s. There are fluted columns with balusters and a shield with a crown beneath. Pairs of winged angels rest upon the curved feet and appear to be holding up the entire posts. Over the years, some of the details of the iron work has worn nicely, but they still retain their original charm and Chateau feel.
