1899 Hand Carved Italian Portoro Marble Mantel West 11th St, Manhattan, NY
About the Item
Recovered from a very prominent 1899 townhouse in the West Village on West 11th Street, Manhattan, NY, this mantel has a classic design with simple but elegant details. The vertical columns are solid and seamless slabs of Italian Portoro Marble that are accented with black marble plinths at the bottom and egg and dart trim at the top. This mantel is aged, and its wear complements its character. The hearthstone was cut around the plinth blocks helps indicate its age.. The curved black trim underneath the top shelf was cut with a center separation for ease of handling and installation. Firebox trim pieces shown in the photos are not included. Features original patina. Length of the shelf can be reduced. Please inquire. Please note, this item is located in one of our NYC locations.
