This elegant pair of fireplace chenets was made of finely chiseled gilded bronze in France in the 19th century.
In Louis XVI style, it consists of three distinct sections: two side in architectural form surmounted by classical vases and turn wheels, and one central, composed of perforated balustrade.
The lateral sections are structured by a base, supported by four semi-circular feet with foliated decoration, with grooved parts, chiseled central frieze with acanthus leaves, frames and mouldings inspired by classical architecture. On the base rests a classic vase, with richly chiseled sockets with faun head motifs, on the body garlands with vine leaves and grape clusters. From the top of the pot comes out a small flame. From the base of the vase, rich curling volutes depart composed of degrees of leaves, phytomorphic elements that twist to lean on the front of the base. The whole is very dynamic and the symmetry of the ornaments creates compositional balance.
The balustrade, which fits inside the side sections, joins the two ends allowing you to adjust the distance according to the width of your fireplace or the space you want to occupy. Finely perforated, it has a vegetable and floral leaf decoration.
This pair of chenets is very scenic and decorative. Luminous thanks to the golden finish, it can be used in front of a fireplace, but also resting on top. Or it can be designed as a decorative object on consoles, drawers, bookcases or other furniture, combined with both antique and modern furniture. It is also possible to present the pair of wingers even without the balustrade, completely removable.
