Antique Black St Anne's Marble Napoleon III Style Fire Surround

About the Item

An imposing piece, this antique fire surround is in the style of Napoleon III, complete with Lion's Paw Feet, finely carved ornaments and consoles on the legs. The black Saint Anne's marble has beautiful white veining and inclusions throughout. Delicately carved motifs adorn the corbels and lower jambs whilst the panelled frieze and end blocks have central geometric decoration. A particularly deep shelf completes the feature piece. Saint Anne Marble, also known as St. Anne Petit Melange is quarried in Belgium and renowned for its enigmatic dark background with striking white features. The chimneypiece has been fully restored in-house and can be viewed at our Hertfordshire warehouse.
