Italian Neoclassical Buff Terracotta Fire Mantel

About the Item

This reclaimed Italian buff terracotta fireplace is a rare and unique find. Beautifully crafted in buff terracotta, it is a highly ornate fire surround with carved embellishments throughout: from the floral detail of the jambs to the scrolling swags of the end blocks. Arguably its most notable detail is the figure to the frieze, centring around a side profile of Minerva, the Roman Goddess of War. An interesting and unusual piece, this reclaimed fireplace becomes a unique feature in any interior setting centred around neoclassical styling or beautiful craftsmanship.
