Large George III Wrought Iron Fire Grate

About the Item

An oversized George III wrought iron fire-grate, the standards formed of elegant urn-topped pierced obelisks standing on a group of Tuscan columns, united by pierced and engraved shaped apron, of unusually large size. Blacking or polishing of the iron work can be arranged, if deemed necessary. The design of this striking fire basket bears many similarities to those published in W. Glossop's pattern-book, The Stove-Grate Makers Assistant (1771),
