About the Item
A large and opulent early 19th Century Georgian manner fireplace surround well carved in Statuary & Sienna marble reminiscent of the style after William Chambers.
This truly remarkable piece features a beautifully carved central tablet
depicting a foliage motif with a centralised urn.
The aperture of this impressive fireplace is
surrounded by sienna marble in-grounds displaying beautiful tones of this exotic and sought after marble.
The frieze is flanked on either end by capitals displaying high relief urns. Below, tall elegant fluted pilasters capped with Ionic capitals.
The whole resting on base blocks.
A truly spectacular fireplace that could be a
feature addition to a renovation project either period or contemporary. We also have the steel fire grate available separately on our first dibs listings.
