A Magnificent Late Georgian Polished Wrought & Cast-iron Register Grate

About the Item

A magnificent late Georgian wrought and cast-iron register grate, the wrought railed serpentine basket front with polished steel hob fronts set over fluted openwork fret, with bead moulding and urn finials uppermost. The surround; the top with central rosette and damper mechanism flanked by flutes and berries above delicately cast urns, foliage, hearts, oval and drops. Shaped cast-iron fire enclosure to rear. Restored. Circa 1800
