MBM Arquitectes (Martorell, Bohigas, Mackay) Fireplace in Cast Iron

About the Item

MBM Arquitectes (Josep Maria Martorell i Codina, Oriol Bohigas i Guardiola, and David Mackay), fireplace, cast iron, Spain, circa 1970 Founded in Barcelona in 1951 by Josep Martorell and Oriol Bohigas, MBM Arquitectes later welcomed David Mackay into the team. In 2002, the team expanded with the inclusion of young architects Oriol Capdevila and Francesc Gual. Celebrated for among others its contributions to Barcelona's architectural scene during the postwar period, MBM Arquitectes has left an indelible mark on the cityscape. The present fireplace, like the building it originates from, is designed by the Spanish studio. The fireplace is distinguished by its angular geometric shape with clear, contoured shapes with sharp lines, constituting its design. Its black color emphasizes its solid and heavy look. The fireplace is ideal for placement in the corner of a room due to its 90-degree construction. The piece is an incredibly sturdy, sculptural addition to one's interior or patio. In this case suitable for both the winter and summer season. Kindly take note that this piece contains signs of age and use, including wear and rust. For further details, we encourage you to reach out to our team of design specialists.
