Pair of Antique 18th Century Neo-Classical Marble Fireplaces

About the Item

An outstanding and rare pair of Irish, late 18th century Statuary Carrara marble chimneypieces. The tall and elegant tapering pilasters are finely carved with neo-classical ornament, the classical urn centre tablet is flanked by fluted panels and carved end-blocks. Both fireplaces are exactly the same size and are in a similar, very good condition. In the manner of and probably by George and Hill Darley, stone-cutters in Dublin between c. 1757-1813.
