Pine & Gesso Georgian Style Fireplace
About the Item
A pine and gesso antique fireplace in the Georgian manner. The jambs with beading, bellflowers and cascading foliage, surmounted by stiff acanthus leaves and classical figures to end blockings. The frieze with scrollwork throughout with floral display to centre. The shelf acanthus leaves and guilloche throughout. English, circa 1900. NB. Photo prior to restoration - finish currently with distressed paint to an olive/blue coloring.
