About the Item
A fine quality period Victorian fireplace in Italian Statuary marble. The arched opening with panels and rope moulding, surmounted by carved guilloche motif and scrolled keystone to centre. The jambs each with pair of scrolled brackets with acanthus carving below and matching guilloche pattern throughout. Moulded shelf above. English, mid 19th century.
