A heavy and good quality late 19th century Victorian antique mahogany fire mantel with a rich colour and French polish finish. This handsome fire surround is in good, clean condition, the French polish finish bringing out the natural beauty of the wood and instilling it with an irresistibly deep colour. Simple details including a tablet to the central curved frieze and dentils below the shelf add a sense of grandeur to this impressive antique surround, making a striking chimneypiece for period and modern settings alike.
