Zinc fountain in the form of a goblin.
Denmark or Germany, late 19th century.
Beautifully executed with many nice details. In original untouched condition with great natural patina.
Goblins are mischievous beings from European folklore.
Goblins were the inspiration for creatures created in the book "The Lord of the Rings". Tolkien used them in the Hobbit as malevolent underground creatures.
