About the Item
Made out of concrete, this decoration from 20th-century Italy takes influences from Gothic architecture. With its face covered in vine leaves, this mascaron made in high relief represents a Green Man —or a Uomo verde—, a pagan symbol of springtime, growth and rebirth that dates back to classical Roman religious traditions. Originally serving as a literal fountainhead, this piece will bring to your home the same warming and welcoming traditions that the start of a stream implies.
