Beautiful arras 'Grassin Baledans' table This table is in original condition and a rare and early piece dating from between 1840-1900, from one of the first factories in arras producing this type of garden furniture The statement Grassin logo on crests clear to see on the centre of the feet Lion paw feet Measures: 88cm height, 50cm width, 44cm width across feet Arras Furniture first emerged around 1840 when one of three companies manufacturing metal products in the town of Arras, Grassin-Baledans, began to specialise in garden furniture and started producing artistic ironwork. With welding not used at the time, all authentic Arras pieces are entirely hand forged and riveted, using metal tubing and flat metal. The furniture was intended for the high-end market at a time when the privileged classes were discovering the benefits of outdoor living, and the pieces were made to the highest quality and durability, along with their striking and distinctive appearance, made Arras pieces incredibly fashionable. Anyone wishing to date an Arras piece must look at the feet first. Originally embellished with lion paws, after 1900 this changed to horse hooves. All our items are genuine antique/vintage pieces and therefore can have some signs of age related use or wear, this adds to the character and uniqueness of each of them. We try to give accurate measurements wherever possible, however where items are unusual shapes pls trust our approx dimensions to be as close as possible.

Condition:
Wear consistent with age and use. Some of the small petals on the seats have come loose at the edges where they meet the frame, but this doesn't affect the use of the chairs or stability. There are some small historical sympathetic repairs to the chairs underneath the seat, also some.
