About the Item

"Coffee table that matches and completes the “Bold” furnishings family. The top is made an HPL surface (available in black and white) which is fixed on the polyethylene base-frame. Ideal for creating a convivial area. Giulio Laccheti has been in industrial design since 1992. He has designed for many brands including Abet Laminati, Alessi, Artemide, Danese, Foscarini, Magis, and Moleskine. The distinctive characteristics of his work are his research and definition of new object typologies, like the Moscardino and the biodegradable spoon/fork designed with Matteo Ragni. In 2001, he was awarded the Compasso d’Oro. In 2009, he was awarded the Premio dei Premi, an innovation prize, by the President of the Italian Republic for his Coop Eureka project, which brought design into large-scale retail trade. In May 2009, the Triennale di Milano held a solo exhibition entitled “Giulio Lacchetti. Disobedient Objects." In November 2012, he launched Internoitaliano, a "factory network" made up of many craftsmen labs with whom he signs and produces furniture and accessories inspired by the Italian way of living. He has also pursued personal research into new design topics such as the symbol of the cross, from which came the exhibition "Cruciale" held by the Diocesan Museum, the Basilica di Santo Stefano Rotondo in Rome and the Castello di Lombardia in Sicily. In January 2015, he curated the exhibition "K-ration", the Meals for Soldier in Action, at Milano Triennale where he reflected on the military's essential and anonymous design. In 2014, he won his second Compasso d’Oro for the design of sphere manhole covers, designed with Matteo Ragni for Montini."
