"Ceci" Minimalist Swing Chair Outdoor
About the Item
Starting from the circular form as a reference to the floating objects of the universe, this minimalist outdoor swing chair is the result of the balance between a geometric Cartesian reasoning and the delicacy of manual work. The painted stainless steel structure consists of a ring and an arch connected by two locking tubular profiles. Colorful nautic ropes are knotted with sailor knots on the ring to suspend the piece and manually wrapped in the frame to form the seat and backrest, perceived as translucent and permeable planes. The cylindrical adjustable cushion is encased by the ropes and stabilized by a counterweight system formed by two solid wood spheres. All elements constitute its functioning and are sized to ensure stability and confort with minimal material. This sustainable orientation promotes a light and simple aesthetic. Samuel Lamas
LAMAS is an architectural, design and enginneering practice with office in Brasilia. The studio is led by the founder, the civil engineer Ruy Lamas and his son, the architect Samuel Lamas, who is the creative director of the firm.
The firm develops products with architectural and geometric reasoning. The aim is to create simple and light pieces to serve contemporary human life. About the designer: Samuel Lamas : Born in Brasilia in 1980 is a Brazilian architect graduated at the Università degli Studi di Roma 3, Rome, Italy.
